about

Werner Moebius, the man behind Œ’s new release Permanent Transition, works from London and Vienna. Although performing mostly in Europe, œ has been projecting his minimalist soundscapes and trippy club pop tunes all over the world.

Πworks with sounds, beats and files in the context of audio culture,
sonic and intermedia art in between conceptualisms, contemporary
music, electroacoustic improvisation and electronica. He uses the
plasticity of sound to set up dialogues with other media and music
methodologies. From abstract sound material he creates a unique mix of
styles ranging from minimalistic soundscapes to weird club based pop
tunes. Generating sounds is taken as a basis to develop complex
compositions as well as audiovisual and transitive concepts in
collaborations with artists of differing media.

Permanent Transition is laced with everything from alarming trip hop
beats like opening track “Opium” to club pop chirps, “Rosebud”, all
with an ominous and nocturnal dub step undertone. The industrial moans and groans of the human psyche are churned out through the 7 track release.

Permanent Transition, is but a glimpse into the future of what can
happen when an acrobat of sound, concepts, and compositions creates a midnight anthem fit for all-nighters everywhere.

The stark, thick sound of Permanent Transition can be chalked up to
the fact the œ has his record mastered at the legendary studio,
Transition, where such dubstep legends like Burial have mastered their
recordings.
